My Story

Hi, I’m Lori Scherer, a new small business owner as of April 1, 2023. I decided to bring my love for painting to the public and offer a glimpse into my world through greeting cards. All art works are my original art. I titled my company , "honest heart" , after receiving a heart transplant in May of 2022. I did not return to my job working as a high school art teacher because I could no longer perform those duties. So I decided to give it my all and try this new adventure. My passion for painting began when I was 7 years old, that's when I enrolled in a Saturday art class instructed by my neighbor, Helene Oakley. I grew up in Boardman Ohio and have since moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with my husband Mark and our dog Ozzy.

My Zodiac Collection of notecards are all original art work of acrylic paintings. I began these paintings last year, hoping to complete the set in less than a year. It just might happen. The zodiac has always been a personal favorite to me as far back as I can remember. Its truly been heart felt as I comprised the composition, color scheme, and objects to capture each of signs. And of course the celebration of sobriety cards reflect a long journey of recovery since 1989. I hope you find the collections as special as I do.
